Hemp is a natural and luxurious fabric. Woven from fibres of the industrial hemp plant, hemp has superior qualities that aids its longevity.

As an environmentally sustainable crop, hemp has moderate water requirements and requires little to no herbicides, pesticides or fungicides. This also ensures that hemp is anti bacterial and allergy friendly. There are no irritants for asthma or allergy sufferers.

Hemp fabric breathes well in addition to being a natural insulator due to its hollow core fibre, a characteristic hemp shares with wool without the scratch. Products made from hemp fabric last longer and wear better than those made from cotton or synthetics, offering consumers value for money since they will not need to replace products as often.

WASHING HEMP FABRIC

We advise a cool to lukewarm wash (up to 40C) machine wash with a natural detergent, or a detergent that doesn't use whiteners, bleach or brighteners. We advise not to dry clean, however many places now offer a silica dry clean wash which is acceptable for hemp fabrics and products made from hemp fabrics.

DRYING HEMP FABRIC

We suggest line drying hemp fabric and products made from hemp fabrics, however machine drying is also acceptable. If line drying, please minimise direct sun exposure for long periods where possible to safe guard the hemp fabric or products from uneven fading. If tumble drying use a warm setting. Pull out promptly when finished and stretch it out.

You'll find hemp fabrics don't require ironing, however hemp does have a memory and if you choose, a warm iron setting or steamer can be used.

    About Hemp Gallery Australia

We are Beatrice and Nicole, the mother-daughter duo behind Hemp Gallery Australia.

Beatrice began Hemp Gallery with her husband Ray with the environmentalist desire to bring education and information to the masses about the value of hemp. After discovering that Hemp could offer all our basic needs; food, clothing, shelter and fuel in an environmentally sustainable way, they realised that the hemp industry was a perfect fit for their personal philosophy. In the late 90's Hemp Market (as it was known back then) was created in the garage of their old home. With a small selection of fabrics they became pioneers in the Australian Hemp Industry.

    Hemp Gallery Australia

Throughout the years more and more products have come on board including our internationally loved Hemp Linen range.

As all good things come to end Ray (semi) retired in 2017 which paved the way for Nicole to come on board and take the business in a new direction.

We are incredibly proud to share our story with you and have loved watching Hemp Gallery Australia grow from strength to strength, year after year. We've now surrounded ourselves with a fun and passionate team who are committed to making the world a better place - one hemp product at a time.

    OUR VISION

Our vision here at Hemp Gallery is for hemp to be used to provide environmentally sustainable raw material, processed with basic equipment into food, clothing, housing and fuel, giving self-sufficiency and independence.  Hemp as a profitable crop for drought stricken Australian cotton and rice farmers due to Hemp's modest water needs and no agricultural chemical requirements with diverse industrial applications.  The hemp market is rapidly expanding world-wide and everyone who purchases a Hemp product is casting a vote for an environmentally sustainable future with their consumer dollar and we thank you for your support!
